Cross River State Enabling Business Environment Council (CR SEBEC)

Cross River State Enabling Business Environment Council (CR – SEBEC) was setup by the former governor of Cross River State Senator Professor Ben Ayade. The council was inaugurated in August, 2021, by the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu.

The CR-SEBEC is establish to replicate the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) with the mandate to remove Bureaucratic constraints to Doing Business in Cross River State, and make the State a progressively easier place to start and grow businesses.

The Council is an inter-ministerial and also government –organized private sector Council chaired by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor and Coordinated by the State Reform Champion on SABER.

In November 2023, the Executive Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu approved for the reconstitution of new members in view of ongoing structuring of number of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.

The Council provide oversight functions for reforms approval, implementation and tracking SABER reform.

The Council meet at least twice a year to review progress in the implementation of reform programmes across the state, publication of Annual Performance Assessment and delivery of capacity building programmes to MDAs.
